About

Helm is a command center for a live universe — a control surface, not a level. The core sits in the middle of the screen; everything else wraps around it: a node roster with link status, a topology graph of the connections between them, stacks of streaming telemetry that read out in realtime, and a deck of knobs for tweaking the simulation as it runs. The frame is the drone-operator / mission-control idea — one thing under watch in the centre, every instrument you need arranged around the edges.

This build is a prototype of that surface. The layout, the live telemetry feed, the topology graph and the knob deck are all here and animating, but the feed is a dummy signal and the knobs don't drive anything yet — the central planet is a blueprint placeholder for the object being monitored. It's the shell the realtime streaming platform plugs into: swap the dummy signal for real streams, wire the knobs to the simulation, and the command center is live.
